I would also recommend some adult supervision for the younger teenagers. I believe in safety and respecting the law and others land you may be driving on. Some pros for this is that’s it makes it easier to work on. So when you need to change out the wheels and tires for the changing seasons it becomes a little easier.

Remember this is a gas model so you will need to mix the gas and oil ratio based on the Manuel or you could purchase it already mixed. Mixing it yourself is easy and this gives you the ability to purchase both fuel mixtures in larger quantity so you can bring the size container you want when you are out on longer distances for you drive preferences. Like when you go camping or are out all day looking for more exciting terrains to drive on. You will more likely end you driving experience from broken parts vs. running out of fuel. For these days try to remember to bring the tools you might need and some spare parts. You never know what might happen so try to be prepared.

The Rovan Baja is built with very durable parts which will help it lasts for years with you normal maintenance. The durable parts are metal, aluminum and hard plastic. Depending on you drive style none of these parts were designed to be blasted to the moon and back so there is the possibility of these parts breaking. Fortunately these parts are replaceable. It is also one of those that is ready to run right out the box, known as RTR. The only thing slowing you down at the beginning is charging the batteries. This process doesn’t take long though.

This 4WD remote control car is equipped with a high-quality rock shell and powerfully built in motors. This will enable you to have a little more fun driving over some tuff terrain. This will enable this model to easily drive through sand, rocky areas, grass and other terrain that is provided by mother nature and the ones you build while driving indoors. With the anti-slip tires and shock absorb er’s it will give some support to unexpected dropping and unstable surfaces on the ground to help protect the electric components which help in allowing you to drive in all terrains. I do however recommend that you do not drop it from heights greater than 5 feet or higher. The parts are plastic and not as durable as the expensive models. They do break from harsh treatment.

This 4X4 Off-road monster truck is equipped with two 4.8V-800mAh rechargeable batteries which gives you the joy of driving for periods of about 60 minutes depending on the type of terrain. Driving steep uphill terrain will naturally drain the battery a little quicker as it puts more strain on the motor. No worries though keep driving and recharging the back up battery unless you are in a location where you can not charge the battery. What obstacles can you put down the hallway. I have used boxes, laundry baskets, Lego pieces, small flat books, the list goes on. I might want to offer one piece of advice here, you might want to ask for permission first before going all out. Parents may not approve of all items in the house to be used as obstacles. I have used the couch before as a means of a starting place then down onto other obstacles before getting to the floor. On occasions like these I hear the words dog house. You want me where. LOL. Common Reviews About The REDCAT Gen 8

I have read quite a few reviews about this model and all of them gave it two thumbs up. They bragged about the looks, style, agility and affordability. They mentioned the recommended upgrades to keep your rock crawling adventures a little more enjoyable. These part upgrades simply give it more stability. Depending on your style of driving you might not need them. We have been using gutted parts from other RC’s that have served their purpose and are now in the RC graveyard but there is value in the left over assorted parts. My son has one rock crawler that now has several parts from different model RC’s. Kind of like Johnny Cashes Chevy car song, but hey my crawler is still getting the job done without having to wait for replacement parts to be delivered by the slow mail service.

The most anticipated vehicle release from Redcat Racing of all time has to be the Gen8 International Scout II. When the Redcat Racing crew announced the upcoming release of the Gen8, the scale crawler world was taken back. Banking on the success of the Gen 7, Redcat listened to the fans and made substantial changes to the Gen8; and by substantial there was  almost a complete overhaul.

Having the portal axles on the Gen8 lets this rig get over almost anything in its path, which explains the part about conquering all kinds of terrain, which did I mention I love this part, without needing to have bigger tires and also gets rid of the pesky torque twist some RTR rigs tend to have. The stock shocks are some the best there are on a RTR. Not too stiff and not to soft, just the right amount of oil for the desired rebound you would want. The shocks also have the adjustable spindle if you are looking for a stiffer ride. When it comes to flex, the Gen8 will impress even the harshest of critics. There are also several redcat gen8 upgrades available.

The TRAXXAS TRX 4 Crawlers is something special. It gives you everything you want in a 4×4 crawler. This one actually goes through axial deep water types of terrain. It still drives over bumpy, muddy, and hillside terrain as well. You are going to enjoy this RC crawler as you take it out of the box, charge up the battery and head outdoors for the very first time. It will soon become one of your favorites to take on most trips.

Traxxas TRX 4 Crawler

This TRAXXAS model is the most produced scale in the 1/10th size and was built for the scale and trail crawler terrain. It comes with a 2.4GHz TQi radio and a bright color of red. It has innovative portal axles which provide huge ground clearance and virtually eliminate chassis torque twist. With it’s lock differentials and operate the high/low range transmission remotely from the transmitter. Because of the waterproof electronics it allows you to drive the Traxxas defender TRX-4 in the worst conditions which makes it capable for extreme water terrain for crawlers. The overall look is different and gives you a highly detailed Land Rover Defender body with functional accessories and spare tire. Another nice option is that this model comes with your typical user manual that you can reference for troubleshooting steps as well as replacement parts. I have read about one recommended change that you may want to purchase in the battery area and that is the XL-5 HV ESC and powerful 21T Titan 550 motor accept 6 or 7-cell NiMH or 2 or 3-cell LiPo batteries (sold separately).

I have two recommended upgrades that you may be interested in.

1). You may want to upgrade to the Castle Creations Mamba X Extreme ESC with 1406-2850Kv Censored Brushless Crawler Motor. It will make a huge difference in performance and reliability! With the 9 tooth pinion installed and Traxxas 2872X 5000mAh 11.1V 3S 25C LiPo, you can increase your run time too over 90 minutes of non-stop mash on the throttle as hard as you want including time in shallow and deep water.

2). After some research you may want to swap out the standard servo horn which comes with the 8247 horn, which is plastic and replace it with the 8247X and this will solve the steering failures. The problem is not with the servo which comes with the 2075x but with the servo horn. Replace the servo horn with the recommended part and this should solve your steering issues.

 

The Land Rover Defender

Traxxas continues their innovative style with this model. They have given it the extra for crawler enthusiast who love driving through water sources. This on was built with that in mind. No more small puddles or steering clear of wet soils. Now you can crawl through axial deep water sources without having to worry about sensors and wiring being destroyed due to the wetness. “Although” this model is not submersible being able to go through deep water is more inviting. I have had models that needed to have the servos replaced simply due to wet sandy material. Not a lot of fun waiting on replacement parts to show up. This model is perfect for outdoor rainy day driving. No need to stay indoors even when its raining. Just make sure you have Moms permission and wear plenty of rain gear to keep from catching a cold.

Why Purchase the Traxxas TRX 4 Land Rover Defender

This is one RC vehicle that you can use as a reason to not stay inside on those rainy days. Yes you can go outside and play in the rain with your TRX 4. This is one model that will last for quite some time with its ability to exchange parts as needed or for longer battery time. When properly maintained this vehicle will last for years. You will only need to purchase some spare and replaceable parts as needed.

Its affordable, durable, goes a decent speed, (42K-30mph) and it has some safety features to protect the model. It has splash proof in various places and the IPX5 Level Waterproof System. Without this your vehicle would go full speed all the time or not at all. This vehicle comes with a Hobbyist grade brushed motor that’s equipped with a 390 brushed motor which can perform 21000 revs per minute. Wow that sounds amazing. I’m glad I don’t have to build it. Which gives it more horsepower hence the 42Km/h capable speed. Brushed motors have a life expectancy of 6 months to a year or longer if cared for properly. This particular model comes with a brushed motor. Which is why you will want to perform simple maintenance care after each use and proper storage. Small debris has the ability to get into every crevis and hole. RC as you probably guessed means remote control. The vehicle is operated with the hand held operational remote. Given that the BEZGAR has great durability, relatively low price, and considerably high speed with a quick responsive servo. It is a very cost-effective way to develop this hobby with a lot of room to grow. Yes you can upgrade this model for an extra cost if you so choose.

A Hobbyist is a person who pursues a particular hobby. In this case we are talking about being an RC hobbyist. Remote control vehicle hobbyist.
