The Volcano-16 is powered by a 390 brushed motor and has a splash proof brushed ESC/receiver. I always like to use a little extra precaution with these splash proof receivers by wrapping them with some electrical tape. I have had a few die from water material getting into their tiny crevices. Not just small streams of water but also from driving in terrain like wet sand. The tires throw the sand everywhere so a little extra protection, in my book is worth it. The radio includes steering and throttle adjustments, so you have the ability to set the speed for beginners and when driving indoors. This efficient radio only requires two standard AA batteries, which can be purchased separately. Or you can use two from the TV remote or from another toy that you’re not currently using. We have purchased rechargeable AA and AAA batteries as you will find the need for several of them over time. Or when you’re running low you can always call the grand-parents. Just a thought.
The Volcano-16 includes a durable plastic tub chassis, beefy independent suspension arms, adjustable threaded body coil over shocks, front and rear gear differentials and full time shaft driven 4WD. The large front and rear bumpers, with impact resistant mounting brackets, look good and offer protection against crashes. Pop in the included set of LED headlights for enhanced nighttime visibility. Yes my friends the party goes on through the night or until all your batteries die out and need recharging. You can even take this monster truck out while camping. LED headlights are awesome.
